Posted Job positions for North Coast Biologics


North Coast Biologics is a growing biotech company in the Wallingford area (in Seattle) that possesses multiple antibody discovery and generation technologies that lead to outlicense opportunities, product development partners, or venture funded spin-off companies.  By generating therapeutic and diagnostic monoclonal antibodies from rabbits, llamas, and humans with the BLAST platform, North Coast is producing therapeutic leads for infectious disease, cancer, and autoimmunity while pursuing best in class diagnostics. 


Because of new partner interest, North Coast is seeking resumes for several full and part time research associate/scientist positions in the following areas:


Cell Culture:  Two junior level RA’s with experience in maintaining mammalian cell lines. 

    1. •Must have experience isolating PBMC’s from whole blood.

      1. •Experience in column isolation of various white blood cell types a plus.

    2. •Experience with liquid handling robotics for cell culture desired

    3. •Maintain records and stocks of all cell lines and samples in liquid nitrogen storage


Assay Development:  One Sr. level scientist and two junior level RA’s

    1. •Experience with cell-based and protein-based high throughput microplate screens

      1. •Prefer experience with antibody-based high throughput screening in the formats above - both fluorescent and colorimetric

      2. •Prefer individuals with experience creating and transferring developed screens to high throughput working status

    2. •Sr. level position will have experience managing a small team with similar duties

      1. •Analyze, summarize, and report data in company meetings


Molecular Biology:  One Sr. level scientist and two junior level RA’s

      1. •Experience with high throughput RT/PCR, traditional fragment cloning, and DNA isolation a must

      2. •Prefer individuals who have experience doing cDNA transfections

      3. •Prefer individuals who have successfully used automation to accomplish molecular biology related tasks

      4. •Experience with DNA alignment software desired

      5. •Sr. Level position will have experience running a team with similar duties, manage data, and report progress in company meetings


Degree requirements:  None - we are more interested in what you’ve done in industry rather than your pedigree.
